The MicroNewton Thrust stand was a project brought to me by a university in Australia. My job was to take a stand that had already been created and improve upon it. I started with CAD drawings and machined from there.
This stand is calibrated using what is called electrostatic comb drive. These combs attract one another when high voltage is applied creating a small force.
